Homemade Body Scrub
October 4, 2023 | No. 2 | By Jordan Johnson
Body scrubs are exfoliating treatments that help to remove dead skin cells allowing for the skin to be rejuvenated, healthy, and look brighter and more even. Exfoliating helps to unclog pores, which can help to reduce acne breakouts and can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Exfoliating can also help to improve circulation helping to improve the skin’s texture and helping to promote a healthy glow. Additionally, exfoliating helps to remove toxins from the skin, which can help to improve overall skin health.
Here is an easy-at-home recipe that you can whip up when in need of a quick body scrum.
What You'll Need:
- wooden or glass bowel
- wooden spoon
- 1 cup of organic oats
- half a cup of ethically sourced coffee grinds
- half a cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup of olive oil
- benonite clay powder
- organic apple cider vinegar
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients with your hands infusing the mask with positive intentions. Stir in 1 cup of olive oil and apply evenly around the body, gently scrubbing away in circular motions. This is a great time to pray and bless your body. Give thanks to your body and feel the cleansing power of the scrub. Rinse with warm water.
Follow up with a detoxifying bentonite and apple cider vinegar mask (stirred with a wooden spoon) to pull out toxins after the scrub removes the dead skin. Wash off after 10-20 minutes. Then include a final rinse with cold water. Massage on your favorite moisturizing oil.
